Truckers motoring with French import French-import Luidgi Du Luy (11/4 — 4/1) scored on Irish debut today, winning Navan’s concluding William Hill Bet 10 Get 5 On Irish Racing Bumper for owner/jockey Michael O’Neill and trainer Emmet Mullins. The son of Pastorius carries the Truckers Partnership colours, which includes O'Neill, and had previously placed third over hurdles at Auteuil last September. Today, O’Neill neatly steered him to a 1.75 lengths success over Liberator, who failed to match the winner in the final furlong. Winning trainer Emmet Mullins mentioned "that’s a great start. He had a nice run in Auteuil and I suppose that experience stood to him there on today’s going, as he loves a cut. He's a horse with a future, I'd say, and could be a nice horse next winter "We will probably keep him to bumpers for now and try to find a winners' race somewhere. Due to having had a hurdle run, I don't think he is qualified for any of the big bumpers but we'll bide our time, as he's a nice horse.” He added “it is great for Michael, he's put the cash down, enjoys it and got a good thrill out of that. This horse won a schooling bumper and I think he got as big a kick out of winning that as he did in a bumper! "He's in with me nearly every morning of the week before he goes to work and it is all paying off. He deserves every bit of success. His other horse, Minella Emperor, has won twice for him and he has started riding him over hurdles as well.” Quotes from Michael Graham
