Gold Dancer proves too strong for favoured stablemate
Of my runners, I thought Westport Cove would win but Gold Dancer is by Doctor Dino, who is a horse we like, and Sean gave him a lovely cute ride. He left Paul (Townend) do all the donkey work, had one crack at him and it all worked out. Westport Cove basically races flat-out so you just try to get a breather into him and while Paul thought he had enough breathers got, Gold Dancer is just improving. There is probably more improvement in him than the other horses we ran in the race. Today was the first time he showed me on the racecourse what we thought and think of him at home. We'll go down the novice chase route with him now at the big festivals and hopefully he is good enough to go on to the Drinmore Chase in December.

Genuine Article rewards patience of connections
It has been a long time coming for this horse after we bought him, as we thought he'd have won before now and we thought he'd win here last year. He was a bit disappointing overall but the key to him is a cut in the ground. He was proven on this track, which was a big help and Seamie spoke to Colin (Keane, jockey son who is currently suspended) who said to ride him forwards. Colin picked out this horse to buy so he'll be delighted. He had a grand run in Naas the last day and it left him spot on and everything worked out today.

Wolf bites bookies in the nursery
He was a little disappointing on his first couple of runs but progressed well the last day at six furlongs and Wayne (Hassett) said to go to seven the next day. For the first time he went through the race well today and hopefully he can continue to go forward from here. He'll get confidence from today and there is a nice conditions race for him at Listowel in September.

Ndaawi gains dramatic Galway Hurdle in stewards room
We have won most of the big handicaps so this is the race I wanted to win, although it is not a nice way to win. The stewards have their jobs to do, and Jack said he'd get it straightaway after the race. I was talking to Ruby (Walsh) as well and he felt we would definitely get it. The Earls are big supporters of mine, we go back to Day Dot nearly and my first Cheltenham winner Chicago Grey was for Michael(Earls)’s brother so it is great. Noel (Meade) is one of my greatest friends and there isn't a day goes by that we don't talk and we have great banter but that's the way it goes unfortunately. There is a 150,000 dollar Flat race in America for him in October now. It is unbelievable to win the two big races here this week and the horses have all run well. I can't believe it.

Frankie John adds to point win in the bumper
He is a really good horse who we initially bought for a lot of money, then sold for a lot of money but that sale didn't work out, as he had an issue. It was a foot problem which wasn't anything major but he returned seven days after the sale (having gone through the sales ring for 275,000 pounds). It didn't bother me when the phone rang to say he was coming back, as he was a good horse and it is great to have winners on these days. Luckily John Mahon (part-owner, celebrating his birthday) decided to keep him with me and my parents. He is a staying chaser and came highly recommended from Ciaran 'Flash' Conroy for Glenvale, so he was right. He is a horse I need in my yard but we are sellers nowadays and if a horse becomes saleable, we have to sell unfortunately. I'd love to have him but he was bought to be sold and I invested myself. That said, I'll talk to John and my parents and it might be hard for someone to buy him now!
