Killarney Racecourse is widely regarded as Ireland's most scenic racing venue, boasting four fantastic boutique festivals each year at the famous Co Kerry layout.
The track is situated in the foothills of the MacGillycuddy's Reeks, Ireland's highest and most rugged mountain range, against a stunning backdrop on the outskirts of Killarney, one of the country's most thriving tourist towns.
On the Flat Killarney provides a left-handed oval of just over nine furlongs. It is a sharp track with the first bend after the winning post being particularly tight. All races on the Flat at Killarney are run at distances from 1m?f and more.
Over jumps, there are six fences to a circuit of the chase course, with three in the dog-legged home straight of under three-furlongs. The run-in is around a furlong. The track is quite undulating in places.
Racing has taken place at the current location since 1936, with Killarney typically racing in the months of May, July and August alongside one Autumn Festival in early October.
Killarney's summer racing action comes at a time when the Co Kerry town is typically awash with tourists, many of which will attend a days' racing with the track located a short walk from the town centre.
The famous Rose Of Tralee Festival takes place in late August and some of the budding Roses are often spotted at Killarney Races on public appearances in the run up to the big event in Tralee's famous dome.
Over the last five seasons, champion trainer Willie Mullins has achieved a 34 per-cent strike-rate with more than 100 runners at Killarney, giving him a +40.35 profit to a level stake.
Trainer Enda Bolger has a good record at Killarney too, with his runners Solitary Man and Stealthy Tom combining to win eight of the first 10 races they contested at the picturesque venue.
