Drought strikes frequently, in three, five and nine year cycles.
Water is survival, and 6 metre deep water pans such as this have
been constructed by each member of the Ilbartan Community Group
with assistance of ASAL, Kajiado, as a first step to improving reliability
of supply between rains.
