Point to point winner Downmexicoway steps up in distance for the first time over hurdles for this Auction Series Final. He was slightly disappointing when tried in Grade Two company last time, but is better judged on a wide-margin victory in a leg of this series on his previous start when he had one of today's rivals Scalpnagoon ten lengths behind.

TEAHUPOO 4.50 Punchestown, Thursday, Ladbrokes Champion Stayers Hurdle (Grade 1)

Teahupoo looks to have strong claims of winning this Champion Stayers Hurdle for the second year in a row. He was possibly a shade unlucky at Cheltenham and might have been better served by kicking for home earlier.

The Yellow Clay has improved with each race over hurdles this season and arguably took his form up several notches when beaten less than a length by The New Lion in the Turners Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham. A similar display here will put him in with a big chance of landing this Grade One contest over his optimum trip.

LULAMBA 4.50 Punchestown, Saturday, Ballymore Champion Four Year Old Hurdle

Lulamba can exact revenge on his Cheltenham conqueror Poniros if taking up his entry here. Lulamba looked to have the Triumph Hurdle sewn up when winning a protracted duel with chief market rival East India Dock, but was nabbed close home by the Poniros who came home fast and late on his blind side.
