Fairyhouse Thu, 15th Jan, 2026  Soldierstown that’s my first winner, I haven’t had a whole pile of runners yet and it’s nice for my father who bred the mare and it is a good family. He’ll be keeping her to eventually breed off. I’ve had a few point-to-point winners and this mare won for me, as did her sister Rosevale. she needs to brush up her jumping, she’s just making life hard for herself as she was a bit slow early on. She’s tough and game and is a nice mare to go to war with. In fairness she’s a three-miler and we got away with it over 2m4f today in dead old ground, which takes a bit of getting. She just put her head down and kept trucking away, so it’s great. I ran her the last day at Limerick as I was trying to get a bumper win into her, but it just didn’t work out. At least she’s a winner now and if I could get a bit of black-type it would be lovely.

Tramore Tue, 25th Nov, 2025  Bigbraveboy I only got the track licence in September and I got it really for Bigbraveboy, and one other horse. I just said we'd have a bit of sport. After a few runs in point-to-points, the monetary value might be gone in a horse but it doesn't mean you can't have plenty of sport with them afterwards. Going handicap chasing is a good second outlet. I won a point-to-point with him and he is a grand horse who just needs soft, soft ground. I thought we mightn't have conditions for him but he'll just gallop and stay. He is a brilliant leaper and JJ said that he is some spin. Ray Fitzgerald is a good supporter of mine and we are good friends. He has a few horses with me for point-to-points and that's my main game.

Galway Sat, 25th Oct, 2025  Our Guide We had a similar winner in Christmas 2021 with another four-year-old and we only ever have one or two horses. We train for fun as I'm farming and also work as a CAD technician in Shannon, so days like today are brilliant. We went a good gallop and while we didn't know if he'd dig deep and stay on, he did. Pedigree wise he isn't out of place, as all his immediate family have won races. I use Aengus King's (neighbour) gallop at weekends and between him and my dad there is plenty of advice. We were hoping for a nice run but in a small yard it is hard to know where you're at. We'll look at all options now and he is for sale.

Limerick Sun, 19th Oct, 2025  Crowsatedappletart he is a great horse but also has his own mind. At home he’d look back at you and slow down, so I suppose he keeps a bit for himself. As a young horse he wouldn’t handle that ground so it took a long time for him, and that (2m3f) is his trip.

Clonmel Thu, 2nd Oct, 2025  Queenofthelodge I’d say she had too much of it at Killarney when she never rose a gallop but is back to herself now. She has been working well so we were expecting a good run and we’re delighted. Farrier Dan Breen, who bred her, heads the syndicate and the lads are all local. Dan bred some good horses including Maries Rock and this mare has a good pedigree too, so I’d say he’ll breed off her in time. There is a race for her at the November meeting in Cheltenham so should go for that, although she wouldn’t want the ground any softer that today.

Listowel Fri, 26th Sep, 2025  Tropical Image last year, I left here deflated when getting out of jail with just one big-priced winner (250/1) and while loads ran ok, it is a funny game as the only currency is winners. At the back end of last year we didn’t have the string of horses we wanted and it was one-thing-after-another which was going wrong. We worked hard at getting quality young horses though and got back rolling in the spring, after going nine months without a win. A month ago, I said we had savage depth with some lovely handicappers, maiden horses and unraced ones and it was the best team we ever had. I dreamed of having six winners but would have settled for three, so this is phenomenal.
