Tomorrow’s meeting at Navan, which was thrown into some doubt due to the recent wet spell of weather, was given the green light following an inspection this afternoon.

The track was found to be unfit for racing due to waterlogging yesterday morning after 35mm of rain in the previous 24 hours but conditions have improved since.

Clerk of the Course Brian Hamilton said, “I’m glad to say we have passed the 3pm inspection this afternoon.

“The track is currently heavy. We had 6mm of rain overnight but have had a dry morning and Met Eireann say there will be no more rain.

“We are looking forward to a good day’s racing tomorrow.”

A seven-race card featuring the Grade 2 William Hill Boyne Hurdle will get underway at 1.50pm.
