In-form McDonogh wins on well-bred filly Jockey Declan McDonogh continued his good start to the new year with a narrow success on the Joseph O’Brien-trained Dancing Saxon (4s to 13/2) today, as the well-bred filly landed Dundalk’s Bar 1 Betting Bet 10 Get 50 Free Bets Race. A half-sister to Group 1-placed Dancing Gemini, Dancing Saxon was today having her sixth career start and, having challenged leader Flanker Jet inside the final furlong, scored an all-out nose success at the line. Following his sixth success of 2026, McDonogh said: "I thought I hit the line well but wasn't sure if we had won. The advantage in photo-finishes is generally to the stands' side horse, so that made me question myself. “Her early form was good and in a Fairyhouse maiden she finished third, with Precise (subsequent dual Group 1-winner) just in front of her.
