I Walked The Line up and running for team Mullins Point-to-point winner I Walked The Line made a successful start to his 'track' career in the Rathronan Maiden Hunters Steeplechase over an extended two-and-a-half-miles in Clonmel. The Walk In The Park five-year-old was popular in the betting in going off even-money favourite. This hunter chase boiled down to a match between Magic Sadler and I Walked The Line who tracked the leader before getting on terms entering the home straight. It was a long run from there to the penultimate obstacle where I Walked The Line was a shade in front. A better jump than his rival at the last secured the spoils as he came in by three lengths from the 15/8 runner-up. There was a chasm of 25 lengths back to The Happy Huntsman (80/1) in a remote third. I Walked The Line landed a Ballingarry point-to-point in May last year for Cormac Doyle before switching to Willie Mullins. Patrick Mullins said: "He is brilliant to jump, made one mistake which was my fault - but I liked him. We finished a long way clear of the third. "We have been trying to replace Billaway and I had Cause For Comment last year who didn't quite measure up, so I got this horse and I'm hoping to make him into a Billaway-type horse. "Being by Walk In The Park attracted me to him, as I love those, and he is for sale to stay in the yard. Cormac Doyle, who is fairly sharp, recommended him strongly and said he was weak in his first few runs before winning a point-to-point on his fourth start. "I'll look to a winners' of one hunters chase next and maybe aim him for the Ladies Cup at Punchestown then and afterwards to Stratford. Next year, as a six-year-old, I'd hope to work towards Cheltenham." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
