Rising Dust a progressive stayer for Emmet Mullins Trained by Emmet Mullins for Donal O'Connor, Rising Dust (11/8 fav) followed up his win at Listowel when taking Punchestown's William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series Handicap Hurdle over 2m7f. The Leading Light gelding was just behind the leaders when getting a reminder from Donagh Meyler after the third-last but it had the desired effect and he led entering the straight. Ceanndana threw down a strong challenge on the run to the final flight, but the winner had a bit left in the tank and stayed on well to beat that rival by half a length with the pair pulling nicely clear of the rest. “He was good and brave down to the last and stuck his neck out when he needed to. He was very game to the line,” said Meyler. “I probably wasn’t travelling as well as I expected to down the back, but I came out for a bit of light and he seemed to jump on to it again.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
