Karoline Banbou (4/9f) provided champion owner J.P. McManus and champion trainer Willie Mullins with trebles at Fairyhouse today, as the mare easily landed the Treo Eile Supporting Racehorse Aftercare Mares Maiden Hurdle.

Strong-travelling Karoline Banbou was left well clear by the fall of pushed-along Swing Davis at the second-last, with jockey Mark Walsh heavily easing the winner down on the run-in, thus passing the post only 2.25 lengths ahead of Place De La Nation

Mullins and McManus had earlier won with Zenta (under Paul Townend) and the Walsh-partnered Sa Majeste and following the treble, the owner’s racing manager Frank Berry said “that was grand. She jumped well and you could only be pleased with the way she did it. She handled the ground well.

“She got a bit tired from the last hurdle in Naas first-time, when something nabbed her but the experience didn’t go astray.

“It was a grand race to get for her and Mark was pleased with her. We’ll see where we end up and see what Willie thinks. She’s going the right way.”
