Gowran Park Thu, 22nd Jan, 2026  Now Is The Hour This is unbelievable stuff and I wasn't sure if he had won, as it was close. Eoin was very good on him and he is great value for his 5lb claim. It is a fantastic race to win and what a difference a day can make!. You couldn't have said he was beaten when falling at the second-last at Cheltenham last March and he was a maiden coming here, so it was a nice way to break his maiden tag. The race is a big part of the calendar with a huge history and while I had finished second in this race last year, it is great to have your name on the cup. It is the first time he has got his ground since he won a Grade 2 hurdle race at Haydock. He again qualifies for the National Hunt Chase so will go straight there, despite having a penalty for winning this. If he doesn't do anything else, he has been fantastic for us and we have been on the cold list for a while so this is well appreciated. Eoin is good value for his claim, is improving all the time and is a nice fella.

Thurles Sun, 18th Jan, 2026  Eachtotheirown Plan A was to go and win the Royal Bond, but that didn’t happen for him on the day and a few of ours were running below par. The ball has bounced back now,. He isn't really a front-runner but there was going to be no pace today, so we decided to buck him out and lead. If somebody wanted to take it off him, well and good. I don't know what mark he has run to today and I'll have to talk to Tim (O'Driscoll, joint-owner) and decide plans, but I think he is top-class. He'll still have a nice handicap mark if we want to avail of that, but we could look at a graded race too. He needs five runs to qualify for a County Hurdle, which is almost impossible for a novice, but he might go for a Supreme Novices although it looks a hot race this year. He is all speed and we are delighted to have him back to what we thought he was.

Fairyhouse Thu, 15th Jan, 2026  Needs Must he had a good run the last day and we thought he had a good chance. He’s a nice horse and Jack said he’d probably be better in a better race. He travelled well and I loved the way he jumped. He quickened to the front and then he kind of pulled up when he got there. It was good though. The handicapper can’t do much to him off 108 and it was the right race for him.

Fairyhouse Thu, 15th Jan, 2026  West Of Carrig There’s normally great support every day we go racing with uncles, aunts and everything, but of course he wins when nobody comes, only two brothers!. I’ll never beat the first day winning a point-to-point at home in Carrigtwohill (Cork) but this comes very close in fairness, it’s brilliant.

Fairyhouse Wed, 14th Jan, 2026  Western Diego It was a fantastic ride by Brian,. He’s a very tricky horse to ride but Brian knows him well. He just bided his time and came with one run, that was the difference. You need experience in those two-mile handicap chases and he’s built that up. He had good-class bumper form and hurdle form, he’s just a decent horse. I’d imagine his route probably maps itself, all those good handicap chases. Now that he’s settling, he could probably go up in trip. We could look at the Grand Annual with him, I’m not sure at this stage. He’s another one of Aubrey McMahon’s buys, he bought him at the Clipper Logistics dispersal. He took a chance on him when a lot of people wouldn’t have. He deserves huge credit as well.

He got a very bad fall one year at Listowel which ruined him, but he appears to be coming back to his best and is well handicapped if he does so. He won two bumpers, was a proper horse and Fr Shane Casey (part owner) loves running him and my daughter Gillian is the horse's other owner. He has come back down to a winnable mark recently and we're looking forward to the summer now. He beat Ash Tree Meadow (Galway Plate winner) by nine lengths once, is a proper little horse, and not too many win over €180,000 in prize money like him.

Cork Sun, 2nd Nov, 2025  Mister Pessimistic In fairness Sean Doyle recommended him to us and it was pretty simple once I saw what name he had, although however bad I am, the only person more pessimistic is his owner Niall O'Leary!. He is a lovely young horse, did it nicely in the end and the second horse is a decent horse as well. I got nervous after his mistake at the second-last but he jumped the last well and galloped out well. He is unbeaten and has done nothing wrong, so hopefully he'll keep progressing. . I was in two minds whether to stay in bumpers this season or go hurdling but he jumps so well at home. We definitely like him and I need to go and look at plans now, but I want to keep him at that trip. . There aren't many options during Christmas so he could run in Leopardstown's Grade 1 novice over two miles. I think nice ground is important to him.

Galway Sat, 25th Oct, 2025  Eachtotheirown He had good runs finishing second in two bumpers but he's not a bumper horse and loves jumping hurdles. There wasn't any pace today which wasn't ideal, so he had to do it the hard way. He will come on a tonne from that, and he went a long way before pulling him up. Sean said he had a blow going to the second last and when he picked him up at the back of the last, he took off. He is a smasher and we have him a long time as he was bought unraced from Sam Curling. We had been minding him as he was only a frame and is only filling into it now. We'll look at going straight to the Royal Bond now or else the Monksfield Novice in Navan, but I think Fairyhouse would suit him better.

Gowran Park Sat, 4th Oct, 2025  Western Fold He is a good horse, was rated 157 today and is still a novice for the year. He could head to Down Royal for the Champion Chase or we could keep him for the Drinmore (novice). He loves jumping and Danny gets a good tune out of him. I was going to put Jack (Kennedy, stable jockey) on him but come Down Royal and the Drinmore, Jack will have other horses to ride so I kept the combination together. We brought him to Ayr one day when he lost his confidence but is back going the right way now. He didn't win until Tipperary in May so is a novice for the whole season, and I don't know if there are as many novices with the experience that he has. We have loads of options but I was nervous about meeting deep ground here today but when we came here, I was happy to run.
