He’ll be keeping her to eventually breed off. I’ve had a few point-to-point winners and this mare won for me, as did her sister Rosevale. she needs to brush up her jumping, she’s just making life hard for herself as she was a bit slow early on. She’s tough and game and is a nice mare to go to war with. In fairness she’s a three-miler and we got away with it over 2m4f today in dead old ground, which takes a bit of getting. She just put her head down and kept trucking away, so it’s great. I ran her the last day at Limerick as I was trying to get a bumper win into her, but it just didn’t work out. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Sound Judgement, trained by Gordon Elliott, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
K.M. Donoghue, rider of Dee's Lady (GB), trained by J.P.Dempsey, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a bad mistake at the last but had no more to give
J.W. Kennedy, rider of Sound Judgement, trained by Gordon Elliott, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung very badly left throughout
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Peter Buchanan, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Soldierstown, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that the apparent improvement in form could be as a result of the step up in trip. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the trainers explanation.
