The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Blue Hop, trained by Henry de Bromhead, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
D.J. O'Keeffe, rider of Blue Hop, trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount jumped poorly
Michael Kenneally, rider of Mount Frisco, trained by John Patrick Ryan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled
The Raceday Stewards received a report from Ms P. Hassett the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr L. Burke-Ott, rider of River Vale, placed second, weighed in 1.3lbs light
Evidence was heard from Ms P. Hassett who stated that when Mr L. Burke-Ott initially presented himself to weigh out he was light and then represented with the correct weight. She further confirmed that when weighing in the rider appeared to have everything that he weighed out with. This was confirmed by Mr L. Burke-Ott who stated that he went to the bathroom after weighing out but other than that he was unable to account for the discrepancy
Evidence was also heard from the trainer, Michael Winters who confirmed the animal was saddled with it's full equipment and could offer no further explanation. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards disqualified River Vale from second place in accordance with Rule 231. Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards found Mr L. Burke-Ott to be in breach of Rule 231(i) and having considered his clean record in this regard they suspended him for seven racedays. The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Tsavo Park trained by John Joseph Hanlon was found to have blood at both nostrils post race, possibly as a result of falling.
